Chinese Journal of Strategies Studies: An Academic Expression of the Chinese Road honored the 16th Shanghai “Silver Pigeon Award” in the publication category
In February 2022, the results of the 16th Shanghai “Silver Pigeon Award” of 2021, organized by the International Communication Office of the CPC Shanghai Municipal Committee, were announced. Chinese Journal of Strategies Studies (Vol. 3): An Academic Expression of the Chinese Road (Truth & Wisdom Press and Shanghai People's Publishing House, 2016), co-edited by Professor Men Honghua from Tongji University, Editor Li Fang from Social Sciences in China Press (SSCP) and Professor Xiao Xi from Jilin University, and sent by Truth & Wisdom Press, is honored the “Silver Pigeon Award” of 2021.
The “Silver Pigeon Award”, the highest award for international communication in Shanghai, is granted once every two years. It is reported that there are a total of 214 winners in this year’s award, including 51 works in the publication category, 29 in the video category, one in the audio category, 24 in the design category, 12 in the image category, 33 in the international press category and 64 in the event/case category.
Chinese Journal of Strategies Studies (Vol. 3): An Academic Expression of the Chinese Road is a collection of results from the first Forum on China & World Studies co-hosted by the Institute for China & World Studies of Tongji University and Social Sciences in China Press in May 2015, and the book was published by Truth & Wisdom Press and Shanghai People's Publishing House in May 2016. This book mainly explores the historical foundation, formation process, basic characteristics, ways of improvement and global impact of the Chinese Road from different disciplinary backgrounds, in order to fully reflect Chinese scholars’ academic understanding of China’s development road.
With Prof. Men Honghua as the chief editor, Chinese Journal of Strategies Studies is an interdisciplinary strategic studies platform jointly developed by renowned Chinese and foreign strategic studies scholars. With the strategic directions of the world's major powers as a reference, the major strategic issues facing China as the core, the China-world interactions as the base, and China's growth into a world power as the goal, the journal invites elites from all circles to write articles, overlooks the changing international situation, explores the sources of world changes, explains the reasons for the ups and downs of various countries, and advises on China's path of growth.
Prof. Men Honghua, chief editor of Chinese Journal of Strategies Studies, is currently the dean of the School of Political Science & International Relations, the president of the Institute for China & World Studies, and the director of the Tongji Base for Research on International Governance of Cyberspace under the Cyberspace Administration of China (CAC) & the Ministry of Education (MOE), Tongji University. He is a recipient of a number of honorary titles, such as a distinguished professor of the Changjiang Scholars (aka Cheung Kong Scholars) Program of MOE (2021), a leading talent in Philosophy and Social Sciences of the national “Ten Thousand Talents Program” (2018), a cultural figure & a talent in the “Four Talent Programs” of the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee (2017), a chief expert in the “Central Marxist Theory Research and Construction Project” (2010), and an expert enjoying special allowance of the State Council (2014). He is also a member of the Colleges and Universities Political Science Steering Committee of MOE, and a guest supervisor of the Shanghai Municipal Supervisory Committee.
